Anakin has more most powerful quotes than yoda circa RotS. The majority of Yoda's occur after Anakin became Lord Vader as well.

Note I'm not saying RotS Anakin is clearly superior to Yoda like KF Vader, I see them as basically equals with Anakin holding a slight edge.

Going by Gillard's ranking Jedi Anakin is still tier 8 and KFV is only physically tier 9, as Gillard notes he hasn't mastered the mental side of things.

Yoda narrowly wins but honestly, either side could offer a strong argument.

Even though Yoda is a superior duelist from a technical standpoint as he's a 9 while Anakin's an 8, Anakin is both faster and stronger physically than Yoda. The speed is especially important, as speed trumps technical skill. This should equalize if not overcome any skill advantage Yoda has over Anakin imo.

The opening to the RotS novel is just the publics viewpoint of Anakin and Obi-Wan. More specifically the children who want to be Jedi. The opening starts with the populace of Corucaunt in despair from the recent attack on the seemingly impenetrable capital and the chancellor's kidnapping but the kids tell are not afraid because "Anakin and Obi-Wan will come to save the day".

If it's base-ROTS Anakin he probably loses though it's a good fight.

The thing is its base Anakin that has the out of universe most powerful jedi ever quotes. It also seems that even the opinion of the jedi has shifted from Yoda to Anakin. Mace, Agen Kolar, and Ben Kenobi all think he's arguably the most powerful member of the order, a belief Palpatine and Jacen Solo also share. Character opinions while less authoritative than 3rd person narrator or out of universe statements, should still mean a lot when a consensus seems to be reached among the various characters on the matter.

Base Jedi Anakin is an 8 and Yoda is a 9 per Lucas tiers. Puts the nail in the coffin IMO.

The tiers only refer to lightsaber skill does it not? If so then the door is still open for Anakin being >/= Yoda by having more applicable power in the force which would lead to things that could bridge the skill gap like superior force augmentation. The bulk of their opinions are based on the fact that Anakin killed Dooku.
Even if you wanted to put forward that LS Anakin was equal/superior to Yoda. He doesn’t have the skill to back it up. He would try and power though Yoda like he did Dooku and Yoda would just outmanoeuvre him.

Lightsaber prowess is dictated by one's strength in the Force. Anakin reached level 9 by falling to the dark side and gaining the power it granted, not by improving his skills with the blade. So Yoda is still likely more powerful than Anakin at the start of RotS.

Anakin is more powerful than anyone else come RotS even as a Jedi and it's an advantage, but as a Lightsider, he can't really channel his power to +Yoda levels until he really gets into a mindset, usually through anger or some other form of intense concentration. He never starts out with that level of power from the outset of a battle morals on. His standard level is tier 8 and it's not likely he's going to be triggered into performing Invisible Hand level feats just because he's fighting Yoda(and even if he did I'm not really convinced that's enough to beat Yoda).

There's a correlation between the lightsaber tiers and Force power, but it's not directly linear.
