Vitiate scales from Ragnos, arguably as early as pre-Nathema. Naturally Ragnos scales from Pall and thus Muur.
Then Novel!Vitiate completely overwhelmed Revan to the degree he was literally powerless. This a vastly more powerful Revan than the version that killed Malak. Malak scales by orders of magnitude from the Jedi Exiles. Including Muur. Thus Vader too.
Muur was genuinely beyond Vader to a degree enough that Vader admits to himself he'd only be gaining a new master by using him to kill Sheev.
Starkiller isn't so far beyond Vader so as to be immune to that scaling.
Vitiate fries, Crashdown dies.

You do know Muur was influencing Vader's thoughts, right? Tempting him with what he most desired (killing Sidious and ruling the galaxy)? Besides which, that was a few months after Mustafar, before Vader had about 17 years worth of power growth.

Yes, but the reason why he denies Muur is specifically what I outlined. Yes, Muur was tempting him. Vader rejected the notion on realising that he would only be swapping Sheev for Muur.
Whilst Vader does indeed have considerable power growth, it sure as hell isn't making up for how far beyond Muur that Vitiate is.

Why pre-Nathema? Obviously post-Nathema Vitiate is portrayed as more powerful than every Sith before him, but I don't think there's anything indicating pre-Nathema Vitiate>Ragnos.
Sure, but there's no indication those gaps are massive.
Revan got within striking distance of Vitiate, resisted his Telepathy, knocked him out temporarily with a TK attack, and blocked multiple blasts of Lightning from him. Just because he was eventually overwhelmed doesn't mean we should ignore the rest of the fight, especially given that he largely mitigated Vitiate's mega-potent Lightning attack - only suffering 3-degree burns.
19BBY Vader. Vader literally grew for like 15 years up to TFU and you think they're remotely the same.
Why? Starkiller blasted away an army of clones that could have "easily" overpowered Vader while on the last leg of his reserves.
Starkiller largely mitigating the effects Wankatine's Lightning shows Vitiate isn't going to fry him Revan style.

Not really, lol. 19 BBY Vader was before he went through massive growth (e.g. after killing Roan Shryne), and even then Muur might have at best been slightly above 19 BBY Vader, if at all (consider that Muur desired Vader's strength). It stands to reason TFU 1 Vader >> 19 BBY Vader, the former of whom Galen was roughly equal to.
