Reasons?

Overall more impressed with Kas'im.

I actually had a very lengthy debate on this once and my position hasn't changed, Kas'im.

Not really sure what Kas'im has except more experience?

"Instinctively" throwing up a Force shield that completely protected him from the Force wave that leveled the massive Rakatan temple superstructure (a temple that withstood orbital bombardment) is a far better feat than anything Depa has.

There's an all-out round too, but while Depa is likely comparable to Kas'im in skill, superior Force power translates to superior aug and skill edges too.

IIRC, the blast wasn't concentrated on Kas'im, but on the temple itself.

Depa is hard to quantify since all we have is a hype and circumstantial showings. If we take Mace for his word she is at least comparable in blade work to TPM Mace which might put her above Kas'im. Beyond that I really don't know.

Depa’s best accolade was her supposed parity/slight superiority to near-TPM Mace in regards to technical lightsaber skill. Based on this she should beat Kas’im but just looking at her feats, she doesn’t really compare.

Didn’t Depa learn Vaapad? It’s a variant of Juyo, which requires mastery of all previous forms to study. So Depa is by default a master of every form. I’d say Kas’im’s edge is experience, but Depa is likely more powerful honestly.

If anything, Depa is the more skilled I think . She has almost zero feats in force power.

Kas'im is a confirmed master of every form as well. Not sure if you were implying an edge in that direction but I thought I'd mention it just in case. Depa may or may not be more powerful, I don't think we have enough data to make that determination in either way.

Well considering she was put on the council in her early twenties, and had mastered all the forms and was centred enough to learn Vaapad, she gains the likely edge in power imo.

Oh no it gets wilder than that. It only took years for Kas'im to master every form, and then he spent decades past that point perfecting every single move and sequence of lightsaber combat that existed in his day.

I never disputed that Kas'im likely has the edge in theoretical/practical knowledge; though to her credit Depa has mastered all seven forms and even Vaapad on top of that. What's more, she's considered powerful among the prime of the Jedi, she's likely more powerful than Kas'im IMO.

@meatpants Being considered powerful amongst the prime of the jedi doesn't really mean she is more powerful than Kas'im.
