He gave Vader a tougher fight then ROTS obi-wan, Who maul just can't seem to triumph over.  Maul put up a decent fight before going down those...but he isn't nearly as powerful as Vader.

@Jedi_Jesus That is a Legends quote. The one "OOU source" is the comic's promotional site, the quote itself doesn't appear in the comic.

canon promotional sites are still accolades regarded in canon, and AFAIK, that quote is from canon. Im welcome to being proven otherwise though

As for the quote being Legends, clicking onto the link takes you to the website where the date of the article is stated to be FEB 01 2014, and the article - which was in the Darth Vader section, by the way - says that "his power was diminished" which isn't something new Canon holds to.

Give me a source that says promotional material is non canon sourcing for accolades please. If thats the case, half of the superiority quotes from sheev no longer matter, kiraks quote won't matter, and Cal kestis loses a few too, among names to list.

I fail to see why a licensed publisher loses any authority to make OOU quotes for star wars. They were trusted with releasing material, why wouldnt they be allowed canon blurbs.

I don't see how the quote stating that Kirak being > any Jedi that Vader has faced prior to Kirak applies to Kenobi, considering that published material distinguishes Anakin and Vader as two different people, psychologically speaking, in that Anakin died whilst Vader was born the moment Padme died.
