R1: Maul has a regular red saber
R2: Maul has his double saber
R3: R1 but he has Dark Saber additionally.

SoD Dooku was already confirmed by the writer to be > Maul. Dooku all rounds. More skilled and certainly more powerful.

Dooku clowning Kenobi while fighting Skywalker on multiple separate occasions is more impressive than Maul being outperformed by Kenobi in TCW S5.

Whether it be Canon or Legends Dooku always comes out looking like the better of the two.

Jeremy Barlow: His power isn’t on Vader’s level, true, or even on Count Dooku’s level — but that never stops him. He stands alongside the Sith Lords only by sheer force of will. Maul is the ultimate underdog here, and that’s what I like about him. The Jedi are hunting him. The Sith are trying to destroy him. His only allies are mercenaries and cutthroats that are only as loyal as they’re paid to be. And yet no matter how bad the situation gets for Maul, and it gets bad here, he just keeps getting up and pushing forward. I love that.

@Greysentinel365 Wasn't aware of that quote, cheers. Anyway, Dooku's skill and power advantage should still be great enough to best Maul.

If we're using author quotes, Genndy Tartakovsky, a man with more authority than Barlow - having worked closely with Lucas - says Dooku is almost as powerful as Yoda in a commentary released with official material. A comic artist's answer to an Erkan tweet doesn't change a thing.

Author opinions aren't canon and just because Erkan bugged the hell out of Barlow until he said what he wanted to doesn't make it valid. Even if we were to consider his quotes as canon, he says that Maul would beat Tyranus because he "won't stop until he's out" or whatever. I'd like to see Maul's pain tolerance save him from Dooku's lightning and lightsaber.

This answer is correct. Dooku is more powerful than Maul, but Maul is stronger, more skilled and tougher than Count.

Maul can wins some rounds do to his extremely aggressive style and pain tolerance, tho.

Maul's physical advantages are more critical than Dooku's power advantage imo. They both have chances but I would favor Maul for a majority. A clash of styles is hard to predict. If Maul plays it tactical Dooku has a better chance, if he applies constant pressure I see him winning more often.
