If you want to argue skill, then Jacen is irrefutably better than any of the masters, perhaps even Luke (I’m talking about skill and versatility, so to avoid any confusion), mainly on the back of the wide array of abilities he learned in his 5-year voyage around the galaxy. Those include stuff like fold space, advanced precognition, hassat-durr and so on. In fact, in Betrayal it’s downright stated Jacen is a more versatile combatant than most jedi, including some of the masters.

In the second novel, he even displays stuff Luke admits he has no knowledge of, so I would likely apply this to all the masters. Lightsaber skill is a whole different matter but when it comes to the force he’s certainly a more versatile and effective combatant than either Kyp or Katarn, power notwithstanding.

I'm agreed Jacen is one of the most versatile combatants in the mythos. My comment was specifically in reference to Lightsaber combat which I think both Durron and Katarn could potentially be better at.
