sedriss is supposedly more powerful than dooku. only thing maul may have above him is skill, but sedriss had the same amount of training from the same master. he couldve easily been as skilled as maul. giving it to sedriss

Dooku ~ prime Vader > Maul >(>) Sedriss. No idea how Dooku is above Vader or how he's far below him.

I wouldn't say it if I wasn't sure. The two are completely comparable. You can argue Vader is more powerful, but the difference isn't massive.

Dooku beats Vader decisively. Vader's capped beneath TPM Kenobi in speed (Per Lucas) and below lifelong masters in skill (Which funnily enough includes Dooku). Likewise Vader's done nothing to suggest he's more powerful than Dooku (All his environmental feats are replicated by people Dooku has kicked around casually) and his strength edge isn't big enough to matter. He just about scratches being a tier 8 (Based off feats), and Dooku is at the top of the range. On the topic at hand Maul was an actual apprentice, something Sedriss wasn't up for per Sheev. Maul rapes him.

*Sigh* No he's not.

Polish =/= raw skill.

And all of Dooku's feats Vader has replicated or surpassed.
and his strength edge isn't big enough to matter.
He can shatter stone pillars with his strength while heavily injured and less than a year after Mustafar. There's a pretty noticeable strength gap.

Nope.
and Dooku is at the top of the range
Agreed.

@BoD:
Gonna explain why we should ignore Lucas's statement?
You've already had this debate of semantics with Grey, I'm not reiterating the same points just for you to ignore them again.
Come back when Vader throws 215m cruisers around casually.
Yoda, Grievous ect have failed to achieve anything against Dooku on the merit of physical strength and they honestly surpass shattering pillars.

Just how restrictive was that costume?
He couldn’t move at all, really. We had to keep modifying the suit so people could move in it. By the time we got to the first light-saber battle, we realized we weren’t going to be able to do much. And so I accepted it was an old man vs. a half-man, half-machine. But Jedi were supposed to be quite active. So for the next one, we got a really good stunt guy in, one of the best sword fighters in England. And Mark Hamill is a good sword fighter.really get hurt.
It's an out of universe statement, not an IU one and was retconned by (suprise) another OOU statement.

Fine by me.

Proof they were all 215m cruisers?

Yoda relies on speed, agility and skill in his fights, not brute strength. Grievous is similar, fighting to overwhelm his opponents through speed and flurries of attacks. Vader's form is specifically designed to take advantage of his strength, so it would be a pretty big problem for Dooku.

Dooku has power immensely beyond Vader and greater skill with a saber as well.

Forgot to mention: that quote only caps ANH Vader to that if you really want to use it. It doesn't include ESB or ROTJ.

@BoD:
Lucas wanted to make the choreography faster to reflect the speed disparity, nothing you just cited contradicts that. That doesn't mean we judge fights solely based on the speed of them visually, but Lucas's intent was fairly clear, and should be considered given the canon policy we abide by.
They weren't, but one of them was, and that's enough.
The fact that the forms weren't specifically designed to utilise strength doesn't refute the fact that Dooku proved capable of matching them in blade locks. More to the point however, Dooku won't have to engage Vader the same way he did Yoda or Grievous, due to the speed/skill disparity he can outmaneovre him in a considerably shorter timeframe, well before Vader's strength wears him down.
