Wow! Do people actually think that? If so then based on what feats? Luke at this point he’s only like Kylo Ren level read the Marvel comics by Jason Aaron. This is just a testament to how overrated Luke is in the VS Community.

I meant the main Star Wars run by him, the entire thing shows how weak pre RotJ Luke really was. If I had to pick the best part of it, it’ll be the Showdown On the Smugglers Moon where he was outfought by Magnaguards (the same ones a 12 year old Ahsoka can beat up while hindered by carrying Jabba’s son) and #5 (I think) where Luke himself states that he’ll never be a Jedi (spoilers: he dose). Now explain to me how ESB Luke is now above Starkiller?

This is the same writer who took Odin from being multi-galaxy level to Thor level, and reduced Thor from a herald tier to a high mid tier. Most of his stuff should be ignored.

Ahsoka had training and was exhausted after doing this, having to rely on the element of surprise. Luke had virtually no training.

This is also the same writer who was writing the God Butcher around the same time he was writing those SW comics. And no, Luke had trained heavily with old Ben for like half a year in which is stated in the Shadows of the Empire novel, he had decent experience fighting with the Rebellion a lot of times, and he had several days sparing with training droids in Weapon of a Jedi. Now can someone please answer my first question: how is ESB Luke above Starkiller?

Ben can't exactly teach someone how to fight, can he? Also, Aaron was writing Star Wars in 2015, so what you're referring to is canon Luke, not Legends Luke.

I don't think ESB Luke > SK as I don't think Luke posed much of a threat to ESB Vader. I do however think that he's fairly comparable in skill.

Why can’t he? Yoda is over 800 years old and he taught the entire Jedi Order how to fight. And yes, I always use a mix of both canon and legends (mostly legends because I know it better and support Lucas’ original vision over all else) where they do not conflict.
Imagine thinking the guy who was absolutely NOTHING to Vader other than a little walk in the park is now more impressive than the guy who easily destroyed non holding back Vader (yes he did destroy him as seen in TFU1 graphic novel, the only reason the fight is so long in the game is because of game mechanics) while he himself was both heavily injured and heavily exhausted and then preceded to hold his own against Palpatine for long enough that the senators could escape; keep in mind that Palpatine is smart and would know to destroy Merak so he could stop the senators meaning he wasn’t toying with Galen, he was simply that powerful.

This quote is pretty clearly referring to Palpatine’s own empire, especially considering that it comes from Dark Empire, a comic series that came out well before Dooku’s character was created.

The Emperor considers Vader to be his minor masterpiece, potentially putting the latter above his other apprentices:

“Minor masterpiece” is a very general designation that can mean a lot of things, which aren’t necessarily power. Then again, this is Sidious’s opinion, the same Sidious who considers Malgus’s battlefield feats unmatched, and in that same book as well, so it is certainly questionable.

Same as the first quote, but I think it is even more clear here that it’s referring to the empire at the time of ROTJ. All it says is that Vader is second to Palpatine in the empire, that’s it. Furthermore, I don’t find it correct to apply certain quotes to characters that hadn’t even been created at the time, since the overall intent could change. But that is another matter entirely.

mmmm but it seems clear to me that if anakin could defeat dooku,vader could do it too mainly because of the quotes that already state that he is more powerful than his previous iteration
