Is Darth Maul’s fight with Mace Windu & Aayla Secura Non Canon?

There is the argument that it’s non canon because it supposedly conflicts with higher levels of canon i.e. Windu’s performance against Sidious in comparison to Maul’s performance against Sidious because George Lucas said that only Yoda and Mace can compete with Sidious and Filoni said that Maul can’t compete with Sidious.

It's Canon within both Legends and Disney,

For one, Mace had never duelled Maul before so unlike Sheev he didn't have any knowledge of his fighting style. For another, this Mace was capable of going toe to toe with Talzin, who could still manifest in her physical form for a time and who had not only time but also something to fight for and thus would most likely be operating at her full power. Finally, we have no idea how long the fight went on for, but it definitely wasn't more than about 30 seconds. By the looks of it, they shared a few strikes, then the Mandalorians came rushing in and ended the battle.



To recap:

Mace wasn't in his prime,
He had absolutely no knowledge of prime Maul's fighting style, unlike Sidious.
They only fought for a very short amount of time,
And Mace had to compensate for Aayla's massive inferiority to Maul.

So yes, it is canon and it is consistent.

Mace Windu and Mace windu definitely fought Darth maul.

Maul's sheer power is incredible so he can definitely take 2 mace windus.

After all Mace is a very weak force user capable of being on par with the likes of Vader in combat choreography which is what we judge power levels off of
