it would suggest jerec could rival TPM sidious which is laughable .
One source that states Jerec rivals Vader is from Qu Rahn, so it's irrelevant. Another is from a source that literally opens up by saying this:
bane takes this .
personally i have RoTJ vader as almost perfect peer to RoTS count dooku and
close to darth tenebrous but below prime plagueis .
jerec doesn´t come close to this level of power .
@dark_globe: That's the standard statement the publisher gives to all prima guides. That's pertaining to the accuracy of the game guidelines and suggestions (e.g. they hold no warranty if their instructions end with you dying terribly). Lucasfilm Licensing, however, has to approve the lore-aspects of the manual.

That doesn't imply there is only a small gap between them.MasterCilghal wrote:Galaxy of fear also places Jerec not far behind Vader in power. It’s stated “this man wasn’t quite as strong as Vader” meaning there is only a small gap between them.

@SithSauce English isn’t my native language, so I might be wrong here, but the meaning I found for that term on a dictionary is almost, very nearly.

Quite is such a vague term, and it's often used in a polite manner.MasterCilghal wrote:@SithSauce English isn’t my native language, so I might be wrong here, but the meaning I found for that term on a dictionary is almost, very nearly.
For example, when someone say's "you're not quite there yet", they're basically saying you aren't there yet at all.

I was referring to “quite as” though.SithSauce wrote:Quite is such a vague term, and it's often used in a polite manner.MasterCilghal wrote:@SithSauce English isn’t my native language, so I might be wrong here, but the meaning I found for that term on a dictionary is almost, very nearly.

The same applies doesn't matter about the context. My point is we have no way to gauge the disparity between Jerec and Vader from that quote alone. The use of the word quite isn't sufficient enough evidence to suggest he is close to Vader's power.MasterCilghal wrote:I was referring to “quite as” though.SithSauce wrote:Quite is such a vague term, and it's often used in a polite manner.MasterCilghal wrote:@SithSauce English isn’t my native language, so I might be wrong here, but the meaning I found for that term on a dictionary is almost, very nearly.

I notice you've abstained from addressing my points about the manual. You going to, because if not, the comparison stands?

ehh I think @MasterCilghal has the correct interpretation of how "quite" is being used. It makes more sense.SithSauce wrote:Quite is such a vague term, and it's often used in a polite manner.MasterCilghal wrote:@SithSauce English isn’t my native language, so I might be wrong here, but the meaning I found for that term on a dictionary is almost, very nearly.

@SithSauce Quite as means nearly, almost. I’ve got further confirmation from my English grammar book. And you’re missing my point: quite as is completely different from quite used alone. And regardless, Ant has already proved the first quote is legitimate so i don’t need to reiterate my point any further.

Jerec's parity to Vader is what loses him the fight.
