That Luke has the same likelihood of dying to Desann as he does at falling down the stairs. It's kind of comical the degree he goes to to emphasize that Desann isn't close to Luke in that quote.

@HeartoftheForce
While he is obviously saying that Luke is Desann's superior, I think it's notable that he said even if Luke wasn't surprised by his ambush, Desann would have posed a legitimate threat. And then he states that Luke was impressed at Desann's ability to surprise him.
Let's look at it this way. People here argue that Cin Drallig is really good as he briefly traded blows with KFV Vader even despite getting taken out fairly quickly so why should this feat from Desann be ignored? Even when we have indefinite confirmation that he posed a legit threat to Luke?

Which doesn't really do you much good in terms of quantifying it. Fodder Stormtroopers have been able to catch Luke off guard and even they were a threat in that moment.

Let's not Because you're ignoring the context of those events. KF Vader is going all to attack and kill Dralig. Meanwhile Luke, well let's look at your quote, Luke isn't distressed or worried in any way. He never actually attacks Desann in earnest either. And we know from other instances that Luke has trouble attacking his students and at this point in the timeline is constantly nerfing himself to insane degrees.
Dralig's feat is impressive because he's going up against an all out Sids tier opponent one on one straight up. And critically, we can draw comparisons to other impressive sword fighters who have done similarly against that tier of enemy (B-Team)
Desann's feat is not impressive because all he did was blindside an otherwise unquantifiable Luke, who was not even concerned about him nor countered at any time.
The showings are not at all comparable. And considering that Desann later loses to Kyle, who despite growing after would still be beneath Mara and Saba who's best showing is beating up the sub-Aurra Sing Caedus?
Yeah no. Desann gets nothing from this.
