What is so fascinating about Galen's Sith Lightning? Many Sith including young Teneb Kel could produce Sith Lightning of comparable scale and effects (probably better). Teneb destroyed a structure made of durasteel with a limited blast of Sith Lightning (an application designed to affect flesh per se). He killed a gigantic Terentatek with a far more powerful blast of Sith Lightning at a later stage while breaching its skull with a lightsaber; Terentateks are virtually immune to a wide range of Force powers. From the looks of it, this Terentatek was bigger than any rancor. Sith Lightning is shaped by following factors; raw power and emotions (intense hatred). If one is great in both aspects; he is very likely to produce some of the most powerful expressions of Sith Lightning ever.

That make sense given the fact that Darth Malak was/is among history's most powerful Sith and absolutely ruthless on top. He was ruthless to the extent that he felt that Darth Revan was soft although he lost his lower jaw for expressing as much.

Revan could deal with that and also that of Darth Nyriss which could utterly destroy Meetra Surik and Lord Scourge by extension. It is logical to assume that he could produce Sith Lightning of incredible scale and effects given his raw power and being among history's most powerful (and ruthless) Sith as well.
