I don't know about a lot of you guys but I almost exclusively got into SW for wank and versus debating, as well as some of the deeper metaphysics later on, but it was never about the story. I appreciate the good writing of some of the works I've read and loathe some of the shit I've had to trudge through, but my preference in characters tended to be based on power, rule of cool and just subjective preference. I don't have a terribly deep appreciation for the writing, authors, series or characters themselves. But if I had to make a top 10 list it would go, in no order:

Krayt
Boba
Jango
Quinlan
Malgus
Plagueis
Ulic
Kun
Grievous

Honourable mentions go to people like: Sheev, Tenebrous, the concept of Bane rather than his execution, Cade, Dooku, Vader, Wyyrlok, Mace

Of the characters we plug into versus threads, there are many I'm indifferent to (many Jedi for example), plenty I like in a very basic sense because they are just serviceable, cool characters, and very few I actively dislike - some because they are just shit characters/shitly written, and some because their supporters are so zealous and contemptible that it's imprinted a hatred for the character on my psyche over time. My dislike/hate list includes:

"Top 10 Favorite characters"

When I think of "best" I think it a joke that Caedus would rank at number 1, or so many characters - like Starkiller -would rank above Darth Vader. Jacen Solo and his storyarc up to TUF, sure. Darth Caedus was a joke with joke motivations, however.

On the notion of "favorite" characters however, I find it odd that Ahsoka Tano edges out Darth Vader on anyone's list, yet we forgo Manakin Skywalker entirely. That is, unless we're combining the two and Ahsoka still narrowly edges out Anakin's entire character arc for you. I mean, not liking Vader/Anakin is one thing, but to like him and still place Ahsoka above? I find this an odd choice personally.
