Watch TROS for context to this.

Shouldn't this be in the Canon forum?

He probably didn't have one. Slept with some random girl, got her pregnant, then kept track of them afterwards in case they produced a Force sensitive he could use for their own ends.
Also, yes this should be in the Canon forum.

He had no wife and he didn't even slept with a random girl. In the newest ROS novel leak is revealed that Palpatine's son was one of his clone projects. His son is a perfect bodied clone without deformations but also non-force sensitive and this is why Palpatine hated him.

Yep...
"One genetic strandcast lived. Thrived, even. A not-quite-identical clone. His "son". But he was a useless, powerless failure. Palpatine could not bear to look upon such disappointing ordinariness. The boy's only worth would lay in continuing the bloodline through more natural methods.
And it was through that eventual union, unexpected as it was, that Rey was born. The perfect vessel. Strong enough to contain all the power of the Sith. His granddaughter."

Depends if you are a fan of the "extra content" it's providing.
Based on the leaks so far, it hasn't really retconned anything for the films (yet), but it's muddying the waters for sure. Don't know if that makes it worse than the film, but it's... Pretty bad, tbh.
