Why does he stop in round 2?

he only loses to valk, simply cuz he of the whole 'not being a sith anymore' making him closer in power to rots sheev, who is his first incarnation that i know of, that is factually stronger than valk.

rots sheev> valk> tpm sheev> plagueis=> other vitiate states, pre amp sheev, tenebrous.. imo

What puts Valkorion above Plagueis?

@shioz i think its cuz while plagueis has a statement about being the strongest sith ever by that point, which does include vitiate, it would not include valk, since he is not a sith anymore, and has been said to be close to ROTS sheev in power, who is a good bit stronger than plagueis

Then my next question is brewing: why is Valkorion close to RotS Sidious?

an author statement, and the fact that the only person to have ever have a better accolade than him is ROTS sheev. valk not being a sith anymore means that the only accolade that does put him down is sheev's. which says he is the strongest dark sider ever by that point, which only then makes him> valk.

I do not dispute the fact that, until his time, Valkorion was the strongest practitioner of the dark side. The fact that Valkorion is no longer considered a sieve makes it impossible to compare it with Plagueis or pre-Rots Sidious quotes of superiority, but I do not see anything that would indicate that he is stronger than them. If there is some authoritative statement by the author that directly puts Valkorion at the RotS Sidious level, I would like to see him.

Far superior feats, better accolades, and better scaling. He's closer to DE Sheev than ROTS is to him.

"Far superior feats" depend on the context and your perception. Which of them puts Valkorion above Plagueis? 
Does Plagueis apply to its accolades? 
Which scaling puts Valkorion above Plagueis?
On the basis of which it was concluded that Valkorion is close to DE Sidious?

Not seeing how he's conventionally more powerful. A massively weakened Valk could kill hundreds of people and destroy countless vehicles with lightning, drain entire planets, and one-shot the Outlander, unchained Vaylin and Arcann.

Can MM circumvent a traditional barrier? It’s never really explained. And Valk has a special barrier anyway, so it’s irrelevant. MM is likely a. Willpower and barrier thing tbh

Not sure MM can do much to Valk considering he's learned how to transcend a physical host. I also don't think it has any feats of bypassing barriers.

Plagueis near-atomised Maladians whilst near dead and vastly pre prime. Everything Valk can do Plagueis can do better

Well damn, by this logic Yaddle doesn't have any accolade preventing her from being abeloth tier. In fact, Yaddle resembles the daughter, yaddle must be at least as powerful as the daughter

Might sound lack an insignificant feat, but list me the amount of times anyone has matched that level of power under those circumstances, without extensive prep or hammering their Force reserves.
