The quote says his abilities are second to none. What are these abilities exactly? The quote does not give any indication it's referring to Force abilities, so I honestly don't get why we should just assume it places Marr above Act 3 EW and SI.

@xolthol It could easily be referring to his ability to lead the Empire competently for example. Nothing about the quote suggests it has to refer to his Force Abilities being unparalleled in the Empire.

@StrangerThingsFan77 Well, this is true. Let me think a bit in order to see if there is something that could substantiate the theory of Marr being above anyone else in the Empire.

I'll step in for Xolthol here because why not.

When you consider the nature of the Sith Empire and how its hierarchy is constructed, the Dark Council typically consists of those who are either cunning enough to power-play their way to the top or those who slaughter their way to the position; typically whichever is easier for them. When you take into account Darth Marr's predisposition to combat and his general dislike of political power plays, I think its probably fair to say that Marr got to where he is because of his abilities in combat. Consider that if anyone believed themselves capable of taking down Marr they would have done so, since claiming his position would essentially grant them full control over the Empire. It's essentially the same exact case as when Vitiate was at the helm. Factor in the natural arrogance of the Sith and their tendency to believe themselves greater than they actually are and it speaks volumes to Marr's "alpha" status within the hierarchy, since not even that arrogance is enough to make a Sith believe they could challenge Marr.

Although, I don't think this point really pertains to the thread since it's presupposing that the Satele = Marr quote is in regards to combative ability, which I believe Charles Boyd noted that this wasn't necessarily the case but I don't have the quote on hand unfortunately.

Zannah's style is perfect for countering Satele, and while she'd be hard pressed to gain an offensive edge I don't think Satele is skilled enough to win here.

Zannah should win here imo. Satele hasn't demonstrated anything to suggest that she could apply more pressure in a duel than DoE Bane or defend against Zannah's spells any better than the Sith Lord.
