Nihilus has better feats but Dooku has some potent scaling in the PT. I would say Vjun Dooku wins but normal Dooku loses.

Nihilus certainly has better environmental feats, but it's very possible that Dooku is a more capable combatant.

Did Dooku know the drain resistance technique?

IIRC he learned it either.

For the love of God, the Dark Reaper and Darth Nihilus are not the same thing. If that technique worked, then the Jedi of KotOR would've used that technique to defend themselves given that they faced the Dark Reaper in the Kun War less than 50 years prior.
Not that Nihilus needs drain, his telekinesis feats utterly dwarf everything Dooku has.

When would they have a chance to defend themselves when most were nigh-instantly giga-drained without warning? Not that the Dark Reaper technique granted immunity anyway, only resistance for a unspecified amount of time.

Ol' Zez essentially says the same thing in his conversation with the Exile; Nihilus was attacking the Jedi without warning, perhaps out of fear confronting them openly.
Of course Zez also says...

My point being that it'd be insane to conclude that Traya wouldn't have used it herself when the time came considering she taught him how to drain and recognises the threat he poses.

@Gideon/Tempest:
Exactly. The Jedi being unable to resist Nihilus doesn't preclude the fact they could have been aware of drain resistence.
That's like saying Luke is trash against blaster bolts because he was downed by one while he had his attention focused on Flint.
@LadyKulvax: It could be so that Traya was just unaware of the technique. She has said drain is an ability to which there is no defense for, which directly contradicts the teaching of Ulic-Qel Droma to Anakin, or Dooku potentially gaining it from Sidious. Or maybe Traya did know of the technique to briefly resist, but fell to Nihilus and Sion combined power anyway
Whatever the case -- assuming Nihilus' drain is someone how foreign to him when Traya explicitly compares it to the mainstream drain of the Ancients, is nothing but pure conjecture

But it isn't the mainstream drain of the ancients. That's the entire point. That you would claim Kreia, the Jedi Historian and scourer of ancient Sith knowledge across the entire galaxy, wouldn't be aware of the widely-known technique amongst the Order 30 years after the fact, is mind-boggling.
It clearly won't work on Nihilus, because the 'drain' itself comes from being a wound in the Force. It's not even a technique, but an instinctual hunger one has to experience first-hand to learn at all. It is an 'empty road to the dark side' per Kreia herself, and that was the reason the ancient Sith stopped using it, because it only exponentially makes the wound worse until you devour yourself. The only way to heal it was to restore your connection to the Force naturally and only subconsciously feed on energy until the wound closes. As happened to the Exile.

Nihilus wins both rounds. Can see a case for Vjun Dooku winning though.
