DE Sidious vs Ood Bnar (Core of Ossus)
December 28th 2020, 9:57 pm
Sidious as of the Dark Empire series.
Ood Bnar as of his Core of Ossus form (tree form?).
Force only.

Ood Bnar is hard to place, a lot of things suggest he's supposed to be >> amped Sedriss who isn't meant to be fodder to Luke anyway, as Grey has pointed out. Then factor in weakening from the radiation for thousands of years. But that's not enough to give him the win.

I am surprised I never see the guy on any top ten lists.
Shrugging off Kun like that is pretty damn impressive.

However I guess you coulda argue he could root himself and amp himself on the core of any planet, therefore replicating it during fights

Well Ossus amped Bnar is more powerful than Unamped Base DE Lukes but is NOWHERE NEAR the strength of DE Sheev who was roughly equal to the power of Luke + Leia + Anakin Solo in Oneness which is utterly incredible and FAR above base DE Luke, granted that is Sheevs full power and not his physical form which would still be far above Bnar as he still fought Luke amped by Leia (who was unlocking Lukes potential) , Byys and Sheevs presence, no one beats DE Sheev apart from maybe Crucible Luke

Ood Bnar could draw from the environment to pack much greater punch in his tree form but this is not to be mistaken for drawing power of the entire planet in the process because there is too much power in a planet for a living being to channel through himself. Abeloth demonstrated this much when a large number of Jedi came to fight her.
The argument that Bnar grew weak over time is unsubstantiated. He had much time to HEAL in the course of thousands of years afterwards, the planet itself began to heal with passing time. SWTOR also provide an explanation of why Ossus endured a supernova event. And Ood wasn't the sole survivor on the planet - there were more.
You continue to confuse oneness with Force Harmony. There are techniques which allow the Jedi to bind themselves and pool their strengths in mind and body. These techniques can provide a breakthrough in numerous situations.
Oneness moments are rare occurrences and mostly individualized experiences - these moments may or may not provide a breakthrough. Keep this in mind.

yeh im aware that force harmony was the amp that Luke received from leia during the duel, however it was oneness when Luke Leia and Anakin joined together to sever the wormhole

Do you have a scan to support this? I do not recall the word "oneness" used at all in Dark Empire.Vaelias wrote:yeh im aware that force harmony was the amp that Luke received from leia during the duel, however it was oneness when Luke Leia and Anakin joined together to sever the wormhole
I could be wrong though.

the word oneness is never really mentioned in oneness situations, but its obvious that it is oneness, just look.
notice how the words 'force harmony' aren't mentioned here either, no reason to assume it isnt oneness, given that this looks and reads exactly like other oneness depictions

Confirmation below:
Example: Leia and Luke Skywalker try to disrupt Palpatine’s Force storm, which is destroying the Republic’s fleet. Palpatine is in the room with them. Luke and Leia and Leia ‘s new child are related by blood and are all strong with the Force. Leia spends a Force Point and links Luke and the child with the Light Side; her control roll is 47 and her sense roll is 36. She successfully uses the Force harmony power, giving everyone a +5D against the effects of any Dark Side powers. If both of these rolls exceed Palpatine ‘s highest skill roll when he summoned the Force storm, then Palpatine ‘s control over the Force storm is severed. - From (Star Wars - D6 - The Dark Empire Sourcebook)

Kun is canonically more powerful by entire magnitudes via numerous scaling chains and outright comparisons with characters objectively more powerful than Vader.
Amped Ood was unable to kill an off-guard Kun with his strongest attack. Kun then goes and performs a ritual that takes him from not standing a chance against the combined order to almost too powerful for them to stop. Prime Kun roflstomps Ood.

I agree prime Kun can one shot, base Kun aint that far above Vader, its only in blogs where he is stated to Dwarf Vader, and a quote exists that should put Vader above him

Where are you getting the term base Kun? Base prime Kun is ritual Kun. Just prior to using the apparatus to release his spirit. No Vader quote puts him over Kun that isn't retconned by higher canon and more up-to-date quotes, as well as actual demonstrations of power. Vader is sub TPM Jinn, Kun scales massively over Plagueis.
