Yeah, Sirak was noted for being an extremely talented duelist and one of the best Sith students to ever exist in Kaan's Brotherhood (they still suck, but that's besides the point), while Othone was explicitly noted to be a very, very mediocre duelist without much of a talent and being leagues outside the true combatants of his era. We have two characters in the same trilogy, one is a top Sith duelist, the other is a low-level Jedi combatant. You could say Jedi had far greater ceiling there and I would agree, Jedi Order of Bane's era was >>> Sith Order of their era, but that's not enough to cover the clear, explicitly written difference between them.
