Probably because Malgus scales below Krayt, not above him.

Hard to do that when Vong Krayt has, at best, hard-parity with spirit Muur. Yet, Darth Malgus as of Onslaught is legitimately hanging with someone like the Outlander who is magnitudes beyond people who fodderise full-power Muur.
