Pre-pool Taalon is above Galaan as far as I can remember, but I don't remember if it was stated if that superiority included lightsaber skills.
If it includes saber skills, it should put him the level of Katarn and Durron in terms of lightsaber dueling.
If he is at that level, he might have a good level of skill to contend with KF Vader for about 10 seconds before being crushed to pieces.
