The potential of Luke

It is commonly believed that Anakin's force potential is greater than Luke's force potential. I am not claiming that that position is wrong, but what exactly is the reason for that claim here?

Anakin's potential power allows him to dominate the Daughter and the Son. Luke after a lifetime of unprecedented combat experience and knowledge, while uber-amped on a Mortis-like monolith and detached from his physical self as a luminous entity of raw power, is not even a fraction of the power of the Celestials.

Does that change the fact George said they were even though?

Considering Lucas was heavily involved in the Mortis arc, it should do.

Lucas never said Luke could become as powerful as full potential Anakin. Only that he could become something his crippled father couldn't: stronger than Sidious.
