Nute Gunray and Rune Haako survive all the way up to Revenge of the Sith?

Nearly every time they appear in TPM they're shitting themselves, did they just keep throwing at money their problems for the next 13 years?

They were the Trade Federation figureheads, and pretty important allies to the Confederacy as a whole. This made them valuable assets to Palpatine and his machinations, which is why he allowed them to live for so long.

Purely out of curiosity, why is this in the Canon sub? This was still the case in Legends as well, since we see Anakin killing them in RotS, iirc.

But yes, they basically made themselves too useful to be disposed of. Heck, Sidious had Dooku have Ventress launch a full in rescue mission one of the times Nute Gunray got captured. His information was too valuable for him to be held by the Republic for any length of time.

Because some people think that the movies don't exist in Legends, so I posted the question here to avoid that confusion.
