Re: Star Wars: Tournament of Power

I'm inclined to say Rise of the Empire or Dark Times since I have a rather high opinion of the Banite line.
Dark Times has some real winners who are going to be winning so much they're gonna be tired of winning. They have Yoda and Sidious who could 1v1 anyone on the Rise of the Empire team. That being said the Rise of the Empire team has consistent quality across the board whereas the Dark Times has some rather noticeable weak links.
It really depends on the dynamics of the fight tbh, if they're all grouped up and fighting strategically as teams, protecting their numbers from thinning, then I'd say Rise of the Empire, but if they're breaking up into 1v1s and 2v2s and much smaller fights it'll wind up being only the strongest characters left standing, in which I'm inclined to say Dark Times wins.

Old Republic team by the skin of their teeth. Having two world eaters in a scenario like this is a pretty nice advantage.

NJO and Dark Times are in with a good shot of taking it.

Interesting concept. My analysis:
1) There are several teams here (Before the Republic, The New Republic, The New Jedi Order) that are simply outmatched. However, they each have several members (Soa, Adas, Joruus, Gethzerion, Ragnos, Nyax, Unu'thul) that will significantly impact the overall outcome.
2) Top to bottom, the best teams are The Old Republic and Rise of the Empire, with Legacy right behind.
3) In terms of the best of each team, The Old Republic, The Dark Times, and Legacy each have the top competitors.
So, onto who wins:
Many of these characters are going to be dying off from the residual effects of the fights between titans. Really, who wins is going to come down to these titanic matchups, and Legacy holds a large advantage here. Not only do they have the most powerful fighter in Luke Skywalker, but because of the presence of other characters (Sidious, Kun) both Luke and Kyp will be opening themselves up more than they would ever do normally. Dark Transfer and Shatterpoint brought about by Cade and Krayt will play a HUGE role in this, and is IMO the deciding factor. Both Krayt and Cade can instantly heal or kill anyone they touch, which will keep their team in the fight longer, and I expect that early on quite a few fighters will get one-shotted by DT.
That said, I can see The Old Republic, Rise of the Empire, or The Dark Times winning as well. Rise of the Empire is probably the second or third best team top-to-bottom, but they don't have the firepower at the top to keep up with the likes of Valkorion, Sidious, Luke, or Krayt, which will limit their overall effectiveness. Sidious has pissed off enough people here to be a prime target, and the rest of his team, sans Yoda and the Galens (and maybe Vader), are going to be wiped away almost instantaneously. The Old Republic probably has the best chance at taking down the Legacy squad for the win. Valkorion, Vaylin, Arcann, Revan, and the Outlander are all world-beaters, and even Kun, Ulic, Nadd, and Nihilus can hang around for awhile. Ultimately though, I see Legacy taking the majority.

NJO, and ToR are the most stacked from top to bottom.
Legacy wins though. Luke Force Melding with however many teammates he wants to would run a train on the other teams.

I'd throw it out there that teams with powerful healing capabilities only improve their chances the longer the tournament goes on.

The legacy team is the one who is the most likely to come out on top imo. They have Luke, who is the most powerful combatant of all, followed by Durron and Vol, who are supposedly in the same tier as him in terms of power. The “before the republic” team is the weakest one by far, followed by the now republic one. As for the outer teams, I’m not so sure. Anyway, great thread @Azronger

TOR wins, every other team has a couple of members that brings them down. TOR is disgustingly well stacked here. Their weakest is Ulic Qel-Droma but he's better than almost every other last two members of any other team.

Bestia is the weakest on that team. This isn't the Dread Masters as a whole, who are still fodder to the likes of Revan even with their combined power, this is one Dread Master, who would badly lose to a post-Act 3 protag.

Regardless of numbers, the Dread Masters share the same collective power. When Styrak was killer they actually got stronger. So Bestia should be concentrating the full power of the Dread Masters into her singular vessel. Not to mention they were individually taking on the entire operation team single-handedly and always win unless you use the circumstances(mechanics) involved to beat them.

Game mechanics aren't canon. What IS canon is that each Dread Master was defeated by the strike team, one that isn't necessarily even comprised of all the protags. Don't forget, The Dread Masters were unable to attack the PCs mind without explicit permission, and on Belsavis, both the Wrath and Nox were able to overpower the combined might of the Dread Masters temporarily.

They are scripted mechanics required to progress the quest, that makes them canon.
The Dread Masters dominate the Hero of Tython across space whilst simultaneously shutting off the reactor to that Republic fleet whilst simultaneously doing the same to an Imperial fleet and appearing on both Dromund Kaas and Coruscant at the same time, whilst also resurrecting Kephess.
Yeah, that one off on Oricon was due to aid from Lord Hargrev who was actively trying to protect the protagonist's mind from their influence.
A single Dread Master, in Raptus, could forcibly teleport the entire strike team to the Sanctuary of Nightmares yet Bestia is more powerful than him.

Ultimately, this is gonna turn into Palps/Yoda vs Anakin/Windu/Plagueis vs Valk/Outlander/Vaylin vs Luke/Krayt in most cases.
In this case, team Dark Times should win most of the time.
