Vader wins if it comes to sabers. Should be able to hold his own long enough to get close.

Base JA Kyp is arguably already at Vader's level in power. When it comes to Kyp-Kun, then Kyp definitely wins.

@Haggis I’d argue way above Vader tbh. I discussed this eith somebody else earlier, and they made a great point. Kam solusar during JA is nothing to Kyp, and Kam grows a lot since de. De he speedblitzes Vill Goir, something arguably in Vader’s realm at best, If not better.

I am inclined to agree. But I wanted to be nice to the Vader squad. They have been through enough.

My children are far too hasty to attack something as holy as the great NJO Brigade

Doesn't JA Kyp have literally zero lightsaber feats? Like, he turned one on. Once. And then immediately turned it off without doing anything with it.
Vader should stomp when it comes to sabers. For Force, Kyp has a ton of raw power, but his best combat feats took place in a location the novel explicitly called out as being a focusing point for the dark side. I see no reasin to think Kyp could replicate his showing against Luke without Kun's temples on Yavin IV helping focus and amp his power.
Having very recently finished re-reading that awful trilogy, I just don't get all the hype around these characters. Vader should stomp here.

Not only does Kyp hold his own against Luke, who by this point is stronger than ever, before Kun ever even gets involved. But Darksaber makes it specifically clear that the Yavin temples, at least at this time, focuses light side energy too. You can even argue Luke did this against Kyp given the text.

I don’t see how Vader can stomp anyway. Kyp scales vastly beyond Kam Solusar, who upon a growth he experienced after Luke redeemed him was able to literally blitz Vill Goir (note that victories of this kind are extremely rare and indicate an abysmal gap), a fighter who can be argued as not being far-off from Vader’s own level.

Mind extrapolating on why Vill Goir is around Vader?

The post was mainly addressing technical skill but I think it can be applied to power as well.
