No idea how strong Nihilus would become by draining a trillion people. This thread is impossible to answer.

When he drained Coruscant, were the tier nines (Yoda, Mace, Sidious) on the planet?

Only non-Force Sensitive people

If we use Vitiate as a baseline, he'd have become immensely stronger, but I'm not sure it'd be enough to bridge the gap between Nihilus' base level and a borderline (if not higher) tier 9 like Krayt.

Well yeah, that much is true. The misconception is that his drain instantly kills everyone else, which is not true.

Nihilus devours Coruscant, realises he's eaten too much, does a Tywin and dies on the toilet when Krayt walks in and kills him.

So basically, Krayt has

1. Stomping Anakin early TCW

2. Going on to have 2 hugely power heightening years plus 2 more turned to the dark side( that also heightens power by a huge amount)

3. Contending with Obi Wan, who though comparably weak, can be called to be in the same league as peak Obi Wan that could contend with a level 9 coombatant

4. Obi Wan cites his presence to create an almost tangible evil in the atmosphere throughout Tatooine and is contemplating the Sith coming to Tatooine on sensing the presence

5. Having countless multiplications to his power

6. Passively controlling the Sith that amount to loosely millions

7. Stomping Cade

8. Having the boast to be much stronger than any Sith at the time, giving him amazing scaling

All that and the Luke battle is not even mentioned. Thematically, him being Luke level may even make sense given the showings he has

At least, he obviously is not TPM Sidious level
