Anakin scales from Dooku and has feats to back him unlike Thexan, who is only comparable to weakest incarnation of Arcann.IG wrote:Apparently AOTC Anakin is far better than scaling > SoR HoT?HellfireUnit wrote:Anakin shreds him into pieces

Anakin scarcely competes with Dooku in a flash of brilliance. That’s not scaling to him.

Anakin's performance against Dooku is one of the biggest inconsistencies in the SW mythos. Some sources say Dooku won easily, some beg to differ.

Anakin was in a "flash of brilliance" state, some of which let him perform at Yoda+ levels. There's no reason that normal AOTC Anakin performs like that.Latham2000 wrote:Anakin's performance against Dooku is one of the biggest inconsistencies in the SW mythos. Does Thexan have any feats other than being comparable to "sacrifice" trailer Arcann who isn't anywhere near Anakin?

Why isn't Sacrifice Arcann anywhere near Arcann? He could decimate entire groups of Sith lords.Isv wrote:Does Thexan have any feats other than being comparable to "sacrifice" trailer Arcann who isn't anywhere near Anakin?

Is the "flash of brilliance" Anakin's rage, or something else? Citation would be nice.IG wrote:Anakin was in a "flash of brilliance" state, some of which let him perform at Yoda+ levels. Citation needed for both of those claims not being due to "a flash of brilliance."Isv wrote:BoD wrote:Why isn't Sacrifice Arcann anywhere near Arcann? So basically your case for AOTC Anakin rests on a possible amp that has only occurred under situations of emotional stress, such as trying to protect his master/father figure (who's not here in the battle), which means you don't think base AOTC Anakin can beat Thexan.

I take it that Anakin's "flash of brilliance" in his performance against Dooku is his rage and hatred for Dooku?
"Struggling to maintain the consciousness against waves of pain from his earlier clash with Dooku, Anakin could only watch as Obi-Wan attempted to hold his own against Dooku. Anakin was furious, with himself and the dark Jedi. That core of rage increased as Anakin saw Obi-Wan so casually beaten. Anakin's anger and his fear for his Master allowed him to push aside his own pain.
(.....)
Ignoring the pain he felt from their previous clash, Anakin blocked Dooku's swing as he was about to land the final blow on Obi-Wan. Fuelled by his hate for Dooku and his anger with himself, Anakin held Dooku’s gaze." -- The Official Star Wars Fact File 100.

No it’s based on a Gillard quote. He performs at far higher levels than normal because of his latent raw power.

These just confirm that he won't be able to replicate this when fighting Thexan. They peaked because of Obi-Wan being hurt.Latham2000 wrote:I take it that Anakin's "flash of brilliance" in his performance against Dooku is his rage and hatred for Dooku?

Yeah, and even in these Star Wars Fact Files, they contradict themselves on Anakin's fight with Dooku because literally 1 issue later, we get this....
“Full of overconfidence, Anakin rushed into the fight with Count Dooku. The superior swordsman bested him easily and severed Anakin’s right arm.” -- The Official Star Wars Fact Files 101.
But then 2 issues later we get this:
Dooku "easily" beat Anakin but at the same time was tired from fighting him? Fact Files is schizophrenic thanks to be an in universe source"The battle with Obi-Wan and Anakin had taken a lot out of Count Dooku, though he was a former Jedi Master and renowned lightsaber duelist. He deactivated his crimson blade and caught his breath as he contemplated his fallen foes." -- The Official Star Wars Fact Files 103.

Film suggests he needed to catch his breath but that he wasn't exhausted, more winded, so I'll go with that.

This makes sense, Dooku being winded is the most logical answer given that Fact Files says that he caught his breath while contemplating his beaten Jedi opponents i.e. Anakin and Obi-Wan... which took only 8 seconds.

Holistically Thexan is with Arcann, so he should win excluding any flashes of brilliance Anakin may have.
