Because this is a mismatch. Marr's supposed Malgus scaling comes from a quote that doesn't cover Malgus. Malgus himself is not on par with Kun at all anyway.

I don't see how someone like Marr can match a Sith Lord as knowledgeable, powerful and skilled as Kun.

Marr takes off his mask and Kun kills himself when he sees his face.
