SoR Revan vs SWTOR Vitiate

How well does Revan do before he loses?

He puts up a fight but he loses every time. He's simply not powerful enough to match Vitiate.

Far superior martial skill and comparable power

I still think novel Revan's full power << novel Vitiate's full power. The only change is that I think SoR Revan is close enough to Vaylin and the Outlander that he can challenge Vitiate, not beat him.KingofBlades wrote:I see progress is being made. Not seeing how martial skill will help him, and they're not really comparable enough for it to give Revan an edge.

Of course they are, the only ones judging are biased, speculating, or foundry fight.

Cool, got any contrary evidence beyond convoluted scaling reliant on novel Revan, then?

So, let's look at this shall we:
>For all his martial skill and comparable power, Revan was roasted on the floor by Vitiate during the novel.
>They then grow for 300 years in lockstep, with evidence suggesting Vitiate was more likely to have grown to a greater degree, if anybody.
>Vitiate's martial skill likely increased over the 300 years.
Why the kark are we presuming the outcome will shift this time given that info? And why is the intent of SOR, that both at full strength facing off would result in Vitiate's victory, being ignored? The mental gymnastics here are unreal.

Not to mention he fought Arcann, Vaylin and the Outlander at the same time while unarmed and while they had lightsabers, indicating that over the centuries he's grown pretty massively in technical skill. Yes, his power would help, however he'd need some kind of skill to keep all of them at bay, skill that can't automatically be chalked up to him being more powerful than Vitiate.

Revan being > Vitiate ignores the clear thematic intent of both the novel and SOR. Revan puts up a solid fight, but in the end he's still Vitiate's significant inferior.

Well, how does Light Side Spirit Revan fit into any of these categories?
Biased? He also wants The Emperor dead and would be more than willing to agree with Dark Revan's quest if the thought he stood a chance, but he clearly doesn't.
Speculating/Foundry fight? I'd wager LS Spirit Revan knows both Vitiate and Revan's respective powers better than anyone.
This is also ignoring the fact that the entire plot of SOR is based on everyone trying to stop Revan before he reawakens Vitiate, so the galaxy isn't threatened. You're literally arguing that everyone in SOR was wrong and that Revan totally could have stopped Vitiate if he'd been given the chance despite the fact that he's consistently portrayed as wrong, there's absolutely no evidence he could have taken Vitiate.

^ Basically this. LS Revan literally sought out the protagonist to beg them to stop SoR Revan as, and I quote; "his efforts will only strengthen the Emperor, not destroy him."

Revan’s power would’ve been drained from the ritual.

Based on what? He was annihilating life on a moon with a weapon the first time, and the second was unclear.

The ritual itself was likely to drain a vast majority of revan’s power when he awakens vitiate. I mean, it’s a force ability, and it seems to be extreme, therefore meaning it must tax the user to an absurd degree.

Jesus IG, just give up with the wank. The grasping at straws here is lowkey pathetic, your entire argument is based on conjecture and you've already shifted the goalpost. Revan is inferior to Vitiate, accept it.
